Both towns are well serviced with supermarkets and weekly street markets, a great range of restaurants, bars, cafes, also banks and pharmacies. Apartment Cristina is in an ideal location of being able to leave the hustle and bustle of Nerja behind you but still have all amenities close by.

Penoncillo Beach is less than a five minute walk away. There are a few bars, cafes and restaurants dotted along the front, great for sampling Spanish Tapas. Most of the businesses provide sunbeds and there are several showers along the beach too.
Torrox Costa is around a 20 minute walk or 3 minute drive away. The coastal area of Torrox stretches for 3 kms and at the heart of the resort is the Paseo Maritimo a pedestrian, wheelchair and pram friendley promenade. Starting at El Faro or lighthouse, the promenade runs along the length of the main beach. By taking a walk along the promenade up to the lighthouse this will give you the opportunity to see Roman remains, first discovered in the 1970's. The remains are of the Roman Necropolis, Thermal baths and the Fish salting factory.
The Majority of Torrox's shops, bars and restaurants are to be found either along the Paseo Maritimo or in amongst the apartment buildings that stretch back to the main coast road. There are several gift/ souvenir shops, every Monday there is a street market and also three major supermarkets situated in Torrox.
During the summer months it is possible to hire pedaloes, kayaks and jet-skis along Torrox Costa.
Nerja is only a short drive away. Nerja's old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces. Wandering through some its charming streets and looking out to sea, it's no wonder why people choose to take their holidays in and around Nerja each year.
Nerja has a huge variety of restaurants, cafes and bars, the fish restaurants along Burriana beach where you can sample local specialities such as paella and pescaito frito (fried fish). There are many traditional tapas bars situated in the old part of the town which still give a free tapa with every drink! There are also a large number of Italian, British, Greek, Mexican and Indian restaurants to choose from within Nerja and Torrox Costa.
At the centre of Nerja is its spectacular Balcon de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe". An outstanding promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of the great Moorish castle. The Balcon has panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below.
One of Nerja's popular attractions are the caves, located only 3km from the town centre. The caves contain paintings dating back 20,000 years ago, one of the larger natural caverns has been transformed into a concert hall. The concert hall houses many performances throughout the summer months and there are also three galleries.
Market day in Nerja takes place on Tuesdays, at the far western part of the town. The street market is very popular with its wide variety of goods for sale, the market attracts locals and tourists from the surrounding areas.
Many of the traditional festivals are still celebrated in Nerja some of which include Holy week, the festival of San Isidro celebrated on 15th May with a parade starting at the Balcon de Europa and ending at the caves with a big country style party. Also Nerja's feria from 8th October to 12th October, the fair has many rides, suiting small children to the more daring adult.
Only 7km north of Nerja is the very pretty village of Frigiliana in the mountains. If you don't hire a car, several buses run daily from Nerja and Torrox Costa. It is well worth a visit, if only to sample some of the local wine which tends to be a bit on the string side.
